Vickie was born December 19, 1953 in Truman, Arkansas, the daughter of Lucile Johnson and Kenneth Huckabee. She passed away November 27, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones after a long illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Married Harry Mauerman on March 17, 1984 in Rockford, IL.
She was a collector of many things and she really enjoyed flea markets and garage sales, thrifting for fine jewelry that she would spend hours looking at with her magnifying glass. She loved working in her flower garden with her granddaughters. She was a woman that never met a stranger and always greeted you with a smile. She had the sweetest soft Southern voice and her one-of-a-kind laughter sure always made you feel welcome. She loved fishing and eating her favorite catfish and fried okra. She was the best jelly maker. She loved doing extra special things and living the moment with her granddaughters who will truly miss her. Adored by her loving husband who will miss his special angel.
Survivors include husband, Harry Mauerman of Rockford, IL; son, Fred Mauerman of Rockford, IL; step-son, Eddie Mauerman and Annette of Rockford, IL; four granddaughters; one grandson; five great-grandchildren; and 14 siblings. Preceded in death by her mother and father.
Special thanks to Zoe Mauerman who never left her GAGA's side, and Randall and Kimberly Huckabee for all their love, care and support. Also OSF Healthcare, Hospice Care, and St. Anne's.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
