Vickie Jan Punchard

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Vickie Jan Punchard "Gran", 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family on February 11, 2022, in Lubbock, TX.
Vickie was born on June 18, 1944, in Littlefield, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Audine and Frank St. Clair of Lamesa, TX and Weldon Stafford of Carlsbad, NM; sister Beverly Pursley of Lancaster, CA; and husband of 45 years, John Edwin Punchard.
Vickie graduated from Tatum High School in 1962 before marrying John, the love of her life, in October 1965. Throughout her life, Vickie joyfully worked in retail, as a bookkeeper, and finally as a loving caregiver for many of "her babies" at Hope Lutheran Church and School, before retiring in 2018. Vickie spent many years volunteering in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University Medical Center. Those who knew Vickie will remember her for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and deep love of family.
Those left to celebrate her memory are her three sons, John Ed Punchard of Lubbock, TX, Jeff Punchard and wife Pati of Lubbock, TX, Jason Punchard and wife Amy of Lubbock, TX; brothers, Mike St. Clair and wife Reyna of Lubbock, TX, Danny Stafford and wife Darlene of Alto, NM, and James Stafford of Chama, NM. Cherishing their Gran's memory are grandchildren, Callie and Krista Punchard, Ryan and Jacey Punchard, Brady and Anna Punchard and Jay and Raynee Hitt.
Memorial services for Vickie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church (2807 42nd Street, Lubbock, TX).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Vickie's honor to the Children's Hospital at University Medical Center or the Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth, TX.
