Vicky Latham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson-Barker Funeral Home on Jan. 22, 2025.
Vicky Leon Latham (fondly known as "g-ma" or "g-g" to her grandchildren), 79, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 3 to 5 P.M. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the West Liberty Community Center, 1204 North Calhoun Street, West Liberty, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice or University of Iowa Supportive and Palliative Care.
Vicky was born on July 9, 1945, in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Norman and Irene (Smith) Hansen. She was a graduate of Tipton High School. On October 30, 1968, she was united in marriage to Robert Latham in Rock Island, Illinois.
Vicky was employed by Louis Rich Foods, the West Liberty Motel, and later at Mercy Hospital, where she worked for many years before retiring in 2012.
She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, puzzles, fishing, and birdwatching. She was always on the lookout for cardinals, reminding her of those she had loved in her life. Her beverages of choice were Pepsi (sometimes with a shot of fireball) and Busch Light tall boys. She would love for you to have one in her memory.
Vicky is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Jose) Revelez of West Liberty; three grandchildren: Rachel (Ian) Spangenberg, Nico (Patricia) Revelez, and Armando (Anna) Revelez; and one great-grandson, Ronan. She is also survived by her sister, Carrie Jo Espinoza of North Liberty, several nieces and nephews, and beloved dog Jagger. Additionally, Vicky has newly found family in California, an irreplaceably sassy and fabulous neighbor & family member Virgil, and her cherished friend, Teresa, who over the years became family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her son Ronald, her daughter-in-law Tonnie, her brothers Fred Hansen and Brian Hansen, and her beloved dog, Sparky.
