BARCELO, Victor

Victor Barcelo sadly passed away from a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on September 3, 2022, at the age of 61.

Victor was born on March 17, 1961, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to his loving parents Jaime and Ileana Barcelo. Victor grew up in Arecibo, with his brother Jaime and sister Ileana. At the age of 16, Victor and his family moved to Tampa, FL.

After graduating from Tampa Catholic High School, Victor worked with his family at the Hickory Farms store they owned. During this time, Victor met Annette who he fell in love with and eventually married on July 6, 1985.

Victor and Annette had two beautiful and wonderful daughters, Bianca and Monica, whom were his greatest gifts. He was so proud of them, their accomplishments at Florida State University, and their successful careers.

Victor became a grandfather to Cecilia Gerken who was his 'pretty girl.' She lit up his life during his last 10 months on Earth.

Victor was a loyal employee to USAA for over 20 years.

Victor was humble, patient, kind, funny, warm-hearted, and witty. He loved sailing, waterskiing, boating, the beach, his pool, biking, yardwork, and mostly, spending time with family. He always had a positive attitude as shown by the constant smile on his face.

Victor was very handy and could fix just about anything around the house. He loved watching sports, especially football, and always cheered for the Seminoles and Buccaneers, no matter the season. He made the best white rice and gin and tonics that will be passed on for generations to come.

Victor was a great husband, dad, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, godfather, cousin, friend, and coworker.

At the age of 59, Victor was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He courageously battled cancer with a tremendous amount of faith and strength.

Victor is survived by his parents, wife, daughters, granddaughter, brother, sister, and many other family members who loved him so much.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 17512 Lakeshore Rd., Lutz, FL, 33558, on September 16, 2022, at 11 AM with a visitation starting at 10 AM. There will be a reception to follow.
