Victor D'Alfonso of East Greenwich, RI and formerly North Kingstown, RI passed away on September 25, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was 97 years old. Married to Edith E. D'Alfonso in 1947, they were inseparable for 76 years.
He was the son of Victor and Mary (Montecalvo) D'Alfonso. He leaves behind Edith (Ciolli) D'Alfonso, his beloved wife of 76 years, his daughter Lucille Sliker (Paul), his sons Victor J. D'Alfonso (Marcia), Richard A. D'Alfonso (Patricia) and Steven E. D'Alfonso (Loriann). Victor leaves 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 5 siblings and is survived by his sister Amalia Iannucci.
Victor, with his wife Edith, founded Warwick Floor Surfacing Co. in 1957. Selling the business in 1988, Victor retired and lived part of the year in Fort Myers, FL. Though a frequent traveler and avid golfer, his passion was following the New England Patriots.
A devoted father, he included his children and grandchildren in many outings including skiing, boating and fishing. He always had "work clothes" ready to help with their home projects.
A highly decorated Navy Corpsman, he proudly served with the Marines in China during WWII as well as in the Korean Conflict. While serving in Korea he was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat "V".
Always there for his family, his presence will be missed.
