VICTOR F. DIFFEE
July 3, 1937 – March 22, 2022
Victor F. Diffee went to meet his heavenly father on Tuesday, March 22 at the age of 84. Vic was born on July 3, 1937 to Lora and John Diffee in Little Rock, Arkansas; he was the youngest of 8 children. In 1953, the family moved to Bethany, Oklahoma where Vic attended Bethany Public Schools. Within a year, Vic and his father formed a partnership and created Diffee Auto Sales on historic Route 66 in Bethany. Vic was 16 years old when he sold his first car.
It was at Bethany High School where Vic met the love of his life, Gloradel McLain, and on August 12, 1955 they were married. This marriage was soon blessed with 4 children, Cris, Lori, Court, and Laine. Vic continued his higher education in these early years at Bethany Nazarene College.
In 1971, Vic and his father John expanded to a larger car lot across the street where they were known for the cleanest used cars in the Oklahoma City area. Vic idolized his dad and was always quick to point out that he had the best teacher in the world in his father, not only about the car business, but mostly in life. The next expansion came in 1986 at Reno and MacArthur with Diffee Motorcars South. He was so proud of both of his sons-in-law, Gary Pitcock and Tod Mosshart, who ran Diffee South. Vic's next step was his biggest one yet. He had always dreamed of becoming a franchised dealer and in 1991 Vic purchased Diffee Ford Lincoln Mercury in El Reno. He relocated the dealership from the downtown area to where it currently sits at the corner of Interstate 40 and Highway 81. Tod was the first to join Vic in El Reno with Court and Laine following soon thereafter. The 4 of them enjoyed the next 30 plus years working together as a family.
Vic's accomplishments are well-documented in the automobile industry, the numerous boards he served on and other accolades, but his real worth was in the lives of all the people he invested in. Vic was a giver, not just of his finances, but in how he helped others and the time he spent making other people's lives better.
Vic accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age, and this became his compass in business and in life. He would be the first to tell you how much he loved his faith and that is why he leaned so much on God's grace and forgiveness, and it showed in his humility. Vic was a 68-year member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, and he loved his church family. He would also regularly attend ROC Church of the Nazarene where he had an entire other family of believers that he loved dearly.
Vic was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gloradel Diffee; his parents, John and Lora Diffee; and sisters, Mary Jane Diffee, Eloise Knippers, and Sarah Parker. Survivors include his daughters, Cris Pitcock and husband Gary, and Lori Mosshart and husband Tod; his sons, Court Diffee and wife Melanie, and Laine Diffee and wife Susan; grandchildren, Courtney Chastain and husband Tyler, Chase Pitcock, Clint Pitcock, Neely Jacobson and husband Josh, Brack Mosshart and wife Amanda, Cody Diffee and wife Hayley, Meredith Barkocy and husband Seth, Conner Diffee, Chandler Diffee, Gann Diffee, Gray Diffee and wife Tara, Garis Diffee and wife Riki, Gage Diffee and wife Kayla, Gibson Diffee, and Glade Diffee; great-grandchildren, Mac Chastain, Clare Chastain, Drew Jacobson, Cole Jacobson, Ava Mosshart, Isla Mosshart, Boyer Mosshart, Archie Mosshart, June Diffee, Jackson Diffee, Annie Diffee, Knox Barkocy, Gray Barkocy, Nash Barkocy, Ollie Diffee, Vann Diffee, Indigo Diffee, Phineas Diffee, Lyla Del Diffee, and Dylan Diffee. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Diffee; and sisters, Johnnie Caroly Knippers, Bobbie Gunn, and Robbie Campbell.
The family would like to thank his special caretaker and friend, Kathy Cannella, and Providence Home Health and Hospice, along with the hospice chaplain, Dan Clowers.
We would also like to thank Vic's executive assistant of over 40 years, Debbie Barton; Debbie, you are family to us.
The family will greet visitors on Sunday, March 27 from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany.
Services will be Monday, March 28, 2:00pm at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, 6789 N.W. 39 Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tulakes Neighborhood Ministries, c/o Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, 6789 N.W. 39 Expressway, Bethany, OK, 73008.

I would have to write a book about my friends , the Diffee family.
So I will try to express my love for them . I knew Victor and family when he was just a boy and 2 of my best friends were Bobbie and Robbie; his sisters . I spent a lot of Sundays in their home in Little Rock with my friends, I will be 87 this year . Even as a boy, Victor was a dedicated Christian . The Lord always had special plans for that boy. Now years later at his death , I see all the things God used him for. Much love to his family and especially his sisters

I worked for Vic Diffee for 24 years at Diffee Motors on 39th Street in Bethany Ok. Mr. Diffee was a special person to have worked for. My son Daniel and I have the family in our thoughts and prayers during this time.

I was given the pleasure of meeting your dad at church. We start going to BNC before Christmas. We sat 3 rows from the front. This very handsome man with a beautiful tie turned around to introduce himself. He said hi my name is Vic Diffee. I remarked about his tie. He told me his beloved wife had bought it for him. He then proceeded to tell me that she had passed away and how much he loved and missed her. I could tell he was thinking of her every Sunday when we would meet. He had stopped coming to church not long after that. I inquired about about how we missed him. Mr Diffee (Vic). I know you are with your precious love, your wife. We will miss you but I am so happy for you for now I know you will be sitting on the first pew, hand and hand with your wife and Jesus. Cyndi
