Victor Lama

"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live"
Victor Lama passed peacefully from this life the morning of March 1st in his 86th year, he will be forever loved by his wife of 62 years Nadia Lama. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life.
He was a loving husband, a great father, a caring grandfather and provider. Victor was a guiding light, a creative soul, and a warm presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Victor was born in Bethlehem on Jan 13th, 1939 to Issa and Mary Lama. He was known for his deep love of art, carving on olive wood and mother of pearl. With over 30 years of teaching technical drawing and a decade managing the Salesian Artistic Center, Victor's passion for his craft was unmatched. Each unique olive wood carving told a story, often steeped in faith, tradition, and the rich cultural history of the region. His legacy lives on through his creations and the love he shared with his family. Victor was very proud of his carvings of the risen Christ on hard boiled eggs at Easter. He also enjoyed creating oil paintings which his family will always cherish.
He was preceded by his parents and his sister, Evelyn Atick. Victor is survived by his loving wife, Nadia; 6 children, Siham (Raymond) Bosheh, Oussama "Sam" (Nisreen), Nabil, Judeh, Lina, and Issa; eleven grandchildren, Odeh, Lara, Ziad and Victor Bosheh, Victor I., Eileen, Andrew, Daniel, Victor T., Alex and Nadia Lama; two great-grandchildren, Sila and Yasmina Bosheh; brothers, Najeeb and Francis Lama and sisters, Jamila Sleiby, Widad Handal, Marlen (Kusta) Jabrieh; as well as, many nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43614, on Thursday, March 6th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 7th at St. Joan of Arc, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
