Victor Vance Sorrell

Victor Sorrell, a devoted family man and respected community member, passed away

peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 74. Born on

June 18, 1951, in the beautiful landscapes of Hawaii, Victor's life was a testament to

dedication, adventure, and love.

Victor's early years were filled with the thrill of riding the waves and soaring through the

skies. His passion for surfing and skydiving in his youth reflected his zest for life and

his desire to embrace every moment with enthusiasm. This adventurous spirit

eventually guided him to Chesapeake, where he dedicated many years as a Plumbing

Inspector for the city. His diligent work ensured the safety and well-being of the

community, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and residents alike.

A man of deep faith, Victor was a member of Good Hope Methodist Church, where he

found solace and strength. His unwavering belief and commitment to God inspired

many and provided a foundation of support for those around him.

Victor was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathryn Sorrell; his parents, Lena

and Victor Sorrell; and his son, Aaron Sorrell. Despite these profound losses, he

remained a pillar of strength and guidance for his surviving family. His legacy lives on

through his sons, Nathan and Daniel Sorrell, and his cherished grandchildren: Jefferie,

Jillian, Cru, Kagan, and Kylie-Anne Sorrell. He also leaves behind his sister, Vicki

Gray, and her husband Dan, who will continue to celebrate his life and honor his

memory.

Victor's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, November 22, 2025,

at 2:00 pm at Good Hope Methodist Church. Family, friends, and community members

are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose life was marked by adventure,

dedication, and love.

Though Victor may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever ride the waves and

soar through our hearts.
