Vidal Ramirez

Vidal Ramirez, 92, Rockford, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, in his home. He was born May 10, 1931, in the state of Durango in Mexico, the son of Pilar and Petra (Ramirez) Nuñez. He married Maximina Rojas on May 1, 1954. Vidal worked for Williams Electronics in Chicago from 1969 until his retirement in 1993.
Survived by his wife Maximina; his children, Benito (Nicolasa) Ramirez, Pedro (Aida Olan) Ramirez, Jose Alfredo (Carmen) Ramirez, Blanca (Matt) Vallejo, Amador Ramirez, Jovita (Gerardo) Perez, Vidal Ramirez, Jr., Lupe Ramirez, and Maxy (Shannon) Wadley; 27 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; his brother, Genaro Jimenez; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, 3 children, Rogelio, Amalio, and Gregorio Ramirez, his daughter-in-law, Maria Ramirez.
Funeral Mass will be held at Noon on Tuesday, June27, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St. Rockford, with Reverend Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will be again on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
