Age 88 of Greensburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Born September 21, 1937 in Ajmer, India, she was the daughter of the late Parmatma Swarup and Ram Kishori Bhatnagar. She was the beloved wife of the late Rakesh Kumar Bhatnagar; loving mother of Neelima Bhatnagar and Pratibha Bhatnagar; and dear sister of Urmila Verma. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings.

Vijaylaxmi's academic journey was marked by her pursuit of knowledge and her passion for economics. Her intellectual curiosity led her to attain a Master's Degree in Economics, a feat that showcased her dedication and love for learning. Her academic achievements were only the beginning; she translated her knowledge into action by becoming a revered teacher.

Her professional life, however, was just one facet of her dynamic character. Vijaylaxmi's sense of nurture extended beyond the classroom. She was a family-oriented individual, whose caring, nurturing, and loving nature made her a cornerstone of her family. As she began her own family, she poured her heart into creating a warm and loving home, where kindness and support were the pillars on which her children thrived.

Vijaylaxmi's interests were as varied as they were passionate. In her moments of leisure, she could be found with a paintbrush in hand, or working yarn with her crocheting needles, crafting creations of love. The aromatic scents of her culinary adventures wafted through her home, as Vijaylaxmi delighted in cooking for her family and friends. In quieter times, she found solace and challenge in the twists and turns of crossword puzzles, a testament to her ever-active and sharp mind.

Reminiscing about her younger days brings to light Vijaylaxmi's athletic spirit. Those who knew her then recall a vibrant and energetic soul, one who embraced physical challenges with grace.

To have known Vijaylaxmi was to have known a life extraordinarily well-lived. Though we mourn her passing, we find comfort in the myriad of happy memories and the enduring lessons she imparted. Vijaylaxmi's spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, as we hold her dear in our memories, and forever in our hearts.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950).
