Viki Rife Obituary Viki Jo Rife of
Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and in the care of Grace Village in Winona Lake, Indiana. Viki was 69.
She was born on October 9, 1955, in Alexandria, Virginia to Joene Ladeen (Toon) Cover and Robert James Cover Sr. On August 7, 1976, she was married to John Rife in Ripon, California and they were blessed with 49 years of marriage before her passing.
Viki grew up in Argentina which led to teaching Spanish at Grace College and at Lakeland Christian Academy, having earned her Bachelor's degree from Grace College. She did Spanish translation and taught women's leadership studies. She loved helping women relate to Christ through one-on-one discipleship. Her greatest desire was glorifying Christ in everything she did.
Viki enjoyed writing, reading, gardening, sewing, mentoring women, and loving on her grandchildren. Viki enjoyed worshipping alongside her church family at Leesburg Grace Church in Leesburg, Indiana.
Throughout her life she held many roles ranging from loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Viki's greatest treasure was being a daughter of God and radiating Jesus in her everyday life. Viki will forever be remembered by her husband, John Rife (
Warsaw, IN); children, Kelly (Justin) Bowers (Twentynine Palms, CA); Laura (Nathan) Hoffard (Tucson, AZ); James (Amy) Rife (Jefferson, ME); and her adopted daughter, Cassie (Peter) Rayl (
Warsaw, IN). Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Natalie and Luke Bowers; Ben, Micah and Jacob Hoffard; Carver and Eva Rife; and Judah Rayl; as well as two brothers, Robert (Lisa) Cover Jr. (
Warsaw, IN); David (Sandi) Cover (Midland, MI); and her sister, Lynette Lowe (Okeechobee, FL).
She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughters, Sadie Rife and Faithe Rayl.
A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road,
Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Tim Sprankle. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 10:00 –1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
