With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Vilma Rivera-Cotto, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who departed this life on August 10, 2024, at the age of sixty-five. Vilma was a woman of many talents and deep compassion, remembered not only for her impeccable sense of style, but also for her boundless humor and love for her dogs. She had a unique ability to bring laughter and light to those around her, often with a witty remark or a playful joke that brightened even the darkest of days. Born with a heart for service, Vilma pursued a career as a licensed social worker, where she found her true calling. Her passion for helping others was evident in every aspect of her work. She dedicated her life to making a difference, offering support, guidance, and care to countless individuals and families. Her impact on the community and those she served will be felt for years to come.
Vilma is lovingly remembered by her mother, Ines, her sister, Norma, her brother, Leo, Jr., her two nephews, Kareem and Khalif, and countless friends, and family members. She was predeceased by her father, Leo, Sr. Vilma's life was one of love, laughter, and service. She touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
