Vincent J. Dougherty, 93, of Crestwood, N.Y., passed away on June 20, 2024. Vincent was born on September 3rd, 1930 to Marie and James Dougherty in Bronx, N.Y.
In 1957, Vincent married Frances Scanlon and had six children, Vincent, Frances, Mary, Virginia, Teresa, and Daniel. They enjoyed 26 years raising a family and supporting the community until Frances passed away in 1983. Vincent married Rose Mary Healy in 1985 and enjoyed 35 years focusing on their careers, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was grandfather to Christopher, Joseph, Amanda, Clifford, Melissa, Coro, Christopher, Arianna, Brandon and Brooke.
Vincent was a veteran of the United States Navy and served with distinction on U.S.S. Leyte for more than 3 1/2 years. After discharge from the Navy, he earned a degree in Accounting at Manhattan College, an MBA in Management at New York University, and certification as a Public Accountant for New York State.
Vincent had a highly successful career spanning 47 years in education administration; teaching; finance and business; and consultancies. As Vice President for Finance and Administration of lona College, he was responsible for the development, management and operation of all financial and business affairs. This contributed to lona's growth and diversification as well as campus expansion.
Vincent lived a life of unlimited generosity; possessed a strong faith; and had an amazing sense of humor. He will be greatly missed and remembered lovingly by his family and friends.

Vince was an integral part of both Iona College and then as Treasurer/C.F.O. of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers Province of North America. Alas, most of the Brothers he knew and worked with have preceded him in passing on. They are having a good conversation now. Be assured Vince is in our memories, masses, and prayers.
