Vincent A. Falade, formerly of Branford, passed away on Sunday November 9th at Evergreen Woods in North Branford. He was the husband of the late Marilyn Thompson Falade. He was the uncle of Mark Falade of East Hartford, Steven Falade of North Stonington, CT, Gregg Falade of Bangor, Maine, William Thompson of Northford, and Julie Iuteri of Northford. He is also survived by his significant other, Patricia Hill of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his brother Philip Falade Jr.
Vincent was born in New Haven to the late Philip and Lillian Grillo Falade. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School. After serving in the U.S. Army he received a designation in insurance studies from the American College in Bryn Maun, PA. He began his career with the John Hancock Insurance Company as a sales representative where he was a perennial qualifier for the Presidents Club being recognized as one of their leading Producers. Due to those accomplishments, Vin was asked to speak at numerous company conventions. The work led him to travel extensively both nationally and internationally. After retirement he took on the role of independent broker which he continued until nearly the time he passed.
Vin was a great sports enthusiast and a great fan of his New York teams, especially the Yankees, Giants, and Knicks. It has been said he was a good salesman. It is more correct to say he was a diligent salesman who took his job very seriously. He will be greatly missed by family, loved ones and his many life long clients.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or go to www.cancer.org.
