Vincent V. Pickard was born on March 25, 1936, to Melvin and Bernice (Vaughn) Pickard in Rutland. He attended the Rutland School, and he married Katherine A. Hamilton on September 3, 1955, in Volga, SD. They lived in Moody and Lake County when he farmed and drove truck hauling livestock and grain. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, in Nunda, SD. He loved his family very much.
Survivors include his wife Kathy Pickard, Rutland, one son, Loren (Robin) Pickard, Viborg, SD, two daughters Chelle (Rory) Pluth, Lake Mills, WI, and Peggy (Dave Lemberg) Herrick, Rutland, one daughter-in-law, Sheena Pickard, Spokane, WA, one brother Quentin (Judy) Pickard, Brookings, ten grandchildren – Jesse Kremer, Lindsey Pickard, Tyler Pickard, Katie Philips, Nathan Pickard, Jennifer Van Hull, Melissa Meinke, Sarah Spier, Ramsey Pickard, Chelsea Herrick, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and 2 sister-in-laws, Marlys Pickard and Sharon Hamilton.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Allen Pickard, two sisters Dorthy Christie, Donna Harvey, one brother Vernon Pickard and one son-in-law, Allen Herrick.
