Vincent Supplee Ruch Jr. (86) of Hagerstown, passed away on April 02, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown MD.
Born December 22, 1939, in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent Supplee Ruch Sr, and Ruth (James) Ruch, Green.
Vince graduated from Annandale High School, Annandale, VA. The class of 1958 where he played on the baseball, football, and track teams.
Vincent served in the D.C. Army National Guard’s 115th Evacuation Hospital from March 1957 – March 1965, ascending to the rank of sergeant first class (SFC). Vince retired in June 1995 from the Federal Government after 38 years. The last 18 years were spent at the National Library of Medicine as a Computer System Analyst/Computer Specialist.
Vince was a member of the Moose, General Assembly IL, Lodge 300. His hobbies included woodworking, golfing, dancing, stein collecting, motorcycle riding, and antique shopping. Vince’s greatest pleasure was dancing with his wife Bonnie on many occasions.
He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Bonnie Louise (Moore) Ruch, who died November 10, 2019.
Vince is survived by his three daughters, Holly Toft and husband Dave, Wendy Ruch, Tammy Smith and husband Dennis, three grandchildren, Carol, Scott, and Karen Toft, two great granddaughters Rory and Ocean Toft.
Other family members include sister-in-law Lillian Moore, four brothers Dr. Donald Ruch, Harry Green Jr. (Sharon), James Green (Connie), Robert Green (Brenda), two Sisters: Jody Foashe, Shirley Schotzhauct (Joe) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Vince was predeceased by step-father Harry P. Green, Sr, step-mother Jeanne M. Ruch, sisters Marileen Moor, Sandra Green, sister-in-law Brenda Ruch, brother-in-law John H. Moore, and brother-in-law Don Foashe.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown with son-in-law, David Toft officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
