Dr. Vincent Carl Scuzzo, 84, of Venice, Florida passed away on May 5, 2025. Born on March 30, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, Vince was the beloved son of Dr. Carl and Vera Scuzzo. He was survived by beloved wife Patsy Scuzzo; daughters Teresa Johnson (Dan), Tina Hassler (Tim), Lisa Scuzzo (Steve), Danielle Cullen (Darragh), and Elizabeth Radigan (Doug); grandchildren Nick Johnson, Meg Ilges, Kate Hassler, Anna Hassler, Samantha Glenn, Parker Glenn, Dylan Glenn, Aidan Cullen, Rylan Cullen, and Taeghan Cullen.
After graduating medical school at St. Louis University, he served his country as a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Medical Corps during the Vietnam War. He then went on to become a successful colon and rectal surgeon, practicing in South Bend, Indiana. After retirement he moved to Venice, Florida where he enjoyed playing golf at Plantation Golf and Country Club, spending time with close friends, fishing, rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals, and solving daily crossword puzzles. While at the club, he was always willing to share his wisdom regarding the perfect golf swing. His witty charm and sense of humor will be missed.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date. In honor of Vince, be sure to have regularly scheduled colonoscopies. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements. To send a condolence or memory please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.

My husband and I moved to South Bend in 1977 after 7 years in the Navy in San Diego. One of the first people we met was Vince. He was a friend of our neighbor. He was one of the greatest friends we ever had. Vince was my surgeon. But more than that he was a dear friend. I loved his low keyed humor. If u didn´t listen, you might miss his quiet, droll way of being humorous. He would speak so quietly. But he made me laugh more than anyone I ever met. He´ll always be one of my very favorite people. And his stepson,Greg, took Vince on the Tiger Cruise. Greg was doing his first flight off an aircraft carrier. And Greg chose to take Vince w him as his guest. And of course all of the pilots loved Vince. We all did. He´ll always have a place in my heart.
