Vincent “Vince” James Veltre, Jr., of White Oak, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born on June 15, 1977, in Pittsburgh, PA, to his loving parents, Vince, Sr. (owner of the former Veltre’s Pizza) and Bari Williams Veltre of White Oak, PA. He was 47 years young and his long life on Earth was considered a medical miracle. Vince was non-verbal and had a rare congenital genetic abnormality.
Vince had a silly sense of humor, infectious smile that would light up a room and expressive eyes that would melt your heart.
He loved grocery stores (and especially the sale papers), the mall, outings in the car to anywhere, the Muppets, watching game shows, Andy Griffith, Mr. Roger’s, listening to music (especially the Monkees), going to church, being sung to, talked to, and much more! He was a proud member of McKeesport Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, Vince was loved and cared for by his sister, Vanessa Veltre-Shrayber and her husband, Yevgeniy Shrayber; precious nephew, Jules Shrayber; also, caregivers, Lisa Boynton; and Kim Culp who unselfishly gave their love and time for over 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his Granny Veltre; special friend and longtime caregiver, Patricia Babcock; and many other loving family members.
Vince's maternal grandmother, Ondeine Elizabeth Dible Williams, died two days after Vince’s death, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 100.
To quote Mr. Roger’s, “There was nobody in the whole world like him and we loved him just the way he was.”
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, November 25, 2024, and Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
