Viola E. Harris

Viola E. Harris was born on December 30, 1943, in Jackson, North Carolina. She was the 9th of 10 children born to the late Charlie and Florence Boone.
As a child she moved to Paterson, New Jersey in 1958. She attended Paterson Public Schools; PS School #6, PS School #4 and Central High.
Viola Harris known as "Aunt V" and" Vi" was a resourceful thoughtful, extraordinary woman that has touched so many hearts in a motherly way and simply a beautiful person.
She was a former employee at Topps cleaners in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Aunt V was a great childcare provider for hundreds of children. In 1971 Vi joined the Order of Eastern Star. On her spiritual journey in 1973 she became a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church in Paterson, New Jersey under the leadership of Weldon McWilliams, Pastor.
Viola Harris was definitely a devoted wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, family was always first. Viola enjoyed family gatherings she loved kids, puzzles, game shows, and soap operas to name a few.
She was preceded in by death her father, Clarence Boone; mother, Florence Boone; four brothers, Clarence Boone, Jackie Boone, Clyde Boone, and Curtis Boone; two sisters, Rosetta Foster, Earnestine Artis.
Viola's beautiful life will be cherished by her wonderful and life long husband of 60 years Tommy L. Harris of Paterson, New Jersey; children, Darryl Harris (Sarina Harris) of Bloomfield, New Jersey, Victor Harris (Rachel Harris), Monica Harris both of Paterson, New Jersey, Daniel Harris of Atlanta, Georgia; bonus daughter, Gwendolyn Ward (Jerry Ward) of Paterson, New Jersey; niece, Barbara Blakey of Atlanta Georgia; god-daughter, Sequita Anderson of Paterson, NJ; eleven grandchildren, Marcus Crosgile, Justin Crosgile, Dominique Harris, Quashaun Harris, Kwmain, Morgan, Mariah Harris, Shanaya Harris, Dezmere Harris, Michael Clancy, Brittney Ward; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Walden of Jackson, North Carolina, Otelia Taylor of Wayne, New Jersey; one brother, Robert Boone (Margaret Boone) of Gaston, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
