Violet Logene Addair

Violet Logene Addair, 91, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Born in Newhall, West Virginia, to the late Daniel and Molly Nester, Violet lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her work. She was married to the love of her life, Lee Elbert Addair, for 70 years until his passing in 2023. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and shared purpose. Violet dedicated over 40 years of service as a supervisor for Woolworths, where she was known for her work ethic, kindness, and steady leadership. A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime and faithful member of Bethel Tabernacle Church. She found great joy in gospel quartets and gospel bluegrass music, which uplifted her spirit throughout her life. She is survived by her son, Gary Lee Addair (Barbara); grandchildren, Tara Finnerty, Jacquelyn Addair (Sebastian), and Tiffany Black (Cody); great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alec, Josh, Macy, Peyton, Bryce, Eleanor, Harper, Beau, and Evie; as well as three cherished great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, with Pastor Joe Foster of Bethel Tabernacle Church officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
