Violet Jean Bergstrom

Violet Jean Bergstrom, age 97, of Erie, residing in Beaver, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 23, 2023. She was born in Erie on December 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Johanna M. Burger Bauer and Robert L. Burger.
Violet attended Academy High School and graduated in 1943. Prior to marrying Harold R. Bergstrom, she was employed at the Miami Herald and The Skinner Engine Company. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage before he passed away on October 10, 2012.
Vi and "Bergie" were blessed to travel the world and spent the winters in Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach, FL for many years. Vi enjoyed golfing at the Lawrence Park Golf Club, where she was a member for over 50 years. She loved to travel, go shopping, garden, bowl and play bridge at the Erie Maennerchor Club, The Erie Yacht Club and the Mercy Center East.
Vi was a fabulous cook and baker, and entertained friends and family, hosting holiday dinners, reunions and family events. She was a very giving and compassionate woman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Bergstrom; her sister, Delores Andrews; and a niece, Kimberly Andrews. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa J. Fulton (David) of Beaver, PA; son, Mark H. Bergstrom (Celeste) of Brooksville, FL; grandson, Cole Bergstrom; granddaughter, Jada Bergstrom; sister, Linda Melaragno and her family of Erie; and nephews, David Andrews and Brian Andrews of Tucson AZ; and many nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.) on Friday, July 7th, from 10 am until the time of the Celebration of Life Service there at 11 am.
