Violet M. Catri

Violet M. (Grant) Catri, age 93, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was married to Albert A. Catri for 30 years until his untimely death in 1981. She survived her son, Alan Catri, after his tragic death in 1982. Born in Burrillville, RI, she was the youngest of four daughters born to the late William and Elley (McMerney) Grant. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Fortin, Priscilla Simmel, and Rita Sevigney.
Vi had a smile for everyone. Her door was always open for anyone to share a cup of tea or just to have a chat. Many of her family and friends showed up regularly to benefit from a visit to Vi. Her strength and unconditional love was both a salve and an inspiration to all that knew her; she influenced so many lives.
Violet is survived by her daughter Cynthia E. Catri (husband, Phil Brown), her grandchildren, Catri Brown and Harrison Brown, and many other loved ones, both related and unrelated.
A visitation will be held from 10-11AM with a Funeral Ceremony at 11AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Her burial will immediately follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
