Violet Cooley

Violet L. (Davis) Cooley, age 95, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 in Phoebe Berks, Wernersville. She was born in West Lawn on August 4, 1929 to George and Sara (Merkel) Davis.
Violet had an eclectic career, having many varied occupations. For several years, she worked at Heck's Diner in Shillington. Having attended Empire Beauty School, she owned a beauty shop in Hyde Park, and then traveled to Arizona and worked in real estate as a property manager for a large apartment complex.
Violet married Wilford E. Cooley on March 13, 1985, and celebrated 38 years of marriage prior to Wil's death in July of 2023. Following their marriage, Violet traveled with Wil on his long-haul tractor-trailer drives across many states in all kinds of weather.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Darla Steinfurth Levey; a brother, Richard Davis; a niece, Lynette Davis; and a nephew, Bruce Davis; and many other family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, John Davis.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 160 Tuckerton Road, Reading. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. John's Gernant's Church, 13, Gernant's Church Road, Leesport, PA 19533.
