Virgie Mae Shaver Monger - age 99 of Lenoir City passed away early Wednesday morning, September 10, 2025. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. Virgie loved the Lord and cherished her family. Her devoted sons cared for her at her home for years. Virgie loved to serve and do for others. She donated handmade gifts to the homeless and orphans into her 90's. She was the oldest member of Cave Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Virgie was the longest living resident of Hines Valley Road, residing there for over 85 years.

Preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Monger; parents, Glenn and Lillie Shaver; brothers: John, Walter, Charles, Glenn Jr., Freddie, and Gene Shaver; sisters: Lucille Hair, Lois Shaver, Ruby Long, Juanita Shaw, and Frances Perry.

Survived by her sons: Horace Monger (Judy), Glenn Monger, Kenny Monger (Mary Ann), and Jerry Monger (Prissy); grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mark Monger, Lisa Mainor (Tommy), Robbie Monger, Kelli Monger, Jeff Monger (Sandy), Dalen Mealer (Leslie), Jenny Carver (Bryan), Aaron Monger (Missy), Shawn Dunsmore (Charlene), Jamie Comer (Ernie), Brandi Brown (Brian), Brittany Monger, Hunter Monger (Lauren), Houston Monger (Alexis), Tiffany Arnold (Evan), Blake Mainor (Amber), Bryson Mainor (Ashley), Brent Mainor (Brandi), Joshua Gardner (Courtney), Jacob Gardner (Shelby), Nick Collins (Brittany), Matt Monger (Tianna), Michael Walters (Amber), Taylor Carver, Lawson Carver, Chris Key, Brent Key, Logan Johnson, Parker Brown, Preston Brown, Parson Brown along with many great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 13th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Rick Kirkland and Rev. Greg Long officiating. Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Pine Grove Cemetery for graveside services.

Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
