Virginia M. Ackland Altman, 84, of Milan passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Virginia was born April 4, 1941 in Sterling, IL the daughter of John and Helen Andreas. She married Lloyd Ackland August 26, 1960 in Sterling, IL. He passed away September 10, 1994. She later married Roger Altman July 7, 2001 in Rock Island, IL. He passed away January 24, 2008. Virginia sold Avon for several years in the 70’s and worked at the ARC for 5 years. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and crocheting. She loved tubing and being on the rock river and especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children Lorri Ackland, Vicki Hill, Lloyd “Rick” Ackland, and Ronald L. (Angel) Ackland; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and great great granddaughter Vaida; siblings John Andreas, Thomas Andreas, and Cindy Shup.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, grandson Ronald Lee Ackland Jr., and great granddaughter Alimay.
