Robert N. Rhone, 78, of Rock Island passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Unity Point Rock Island.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery in Port Byron.
Robert was born December 24, 1946 in Harvey, North Dakota to Robert M. and Darlyne Rhone. He graduated from Fessenden High School in North Dakota in 1964 and attended North Dakota State University, graduating in 1968. He worked for the Rock Island Arsenal in the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS-RI) for over 30 years, retiring April 2, 2003.
Robert married Marian Justus in July 1967. They later divorced. He married Jean Stufflebeam in October 1994. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren. Bob loved traveling and fishing. He went on several fishing trips with family and neighbors to Minnesota and Canada. He also enjoyed visiting family in North Dakota. Bob and Jean enjoyed local hockey games and held season tickets to the Quad City Mallards hockey team.
Bob is survived by his sister Priscilla (Ivan) Schlenker; children Tracey Robinson and Brad (Hope) Stufflebeam; grandchildren Tami (Ricky) Duncan, Andrew Keefe, Brandon Stufflebeam, Jessica Robinson, Kirsten (Bryce) Thomas, Gabby Stufflebeam, Jace Jordan, Isabelle Jordan, Cayden Jordan, and 7 great grandchildren; two nieces, Heather Perkins and Cari Vasfaret.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
