Virginia Cullom Carr age 74 of Hallettsville, Texas passed away peacefully by her husband's side on Monday November 10, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Keith Carr, her mother and father A.E "Fritz" and Audrey Vivian Cullom, her mother-in-law Marian Knox, brother John Alfred Cullom, her niece Rhonda Hogue and nephews James Warren Hogue, Michael Wood and Jimmie Hogue.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Patrick Michael Carr, her sisters Elizabeth "Liba" Cullom and Vivian Lois Smalley (Lyle), Brother-in-law Danny Carr (Dina), Nephews Ronnie Hogue (Mina), Scott Heintschel (Rachael), Pat Wood (Wendy), Grant Carr (Sara), Stacy Carr, Eric Carr and Lonnie Wood. Nieces; Natalie Sue Cullom, Melinda Gail Cullom (Johnny), Catherine Carr (Bill), Megan Carr (Aaron) and Madeline Carr. Great nephews; Chris, Keegan, Warren, Chandler, Brandon, Clifford, Calvin, Zachary, Tristan, Kyle, Jordan and Tristan H. Great nieces; Melissa, Hallye, Savannah, Chea and Kaylea. Close friends Margie, Becky, Jan and Mary Ann.
Virginia was born November 19, 1950, in Houston Texas. She graduated from New Caney High School in 1969 and studied at Lee College. Virginia and Pat married on November 8, 1974, in La Porte Texas and became the proud parents of Brian on June 21, 1979. They saved one another and bridged a bond that will never be broken. Brian loved his mother with all his heart and Virginia will be the happiest by being reunited with her beloved son. She also devoted 37 years as an office manager for Lubrizol from September 1980 to March 2017.
Virginia will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, her sassy, blunt and bossy personality, her charming smile and warm hugs. Her phobias, practical jokes, collectibles and for being convinced she was right more often than not. Her Thanksgiving gravy, millionaire pound cake and pralines. She participated in bunco club- Deer Park for 25 years and she was a happy member of Hallettsville First Methodist Church where her memorial services will be Saturday January 17, 2026, at 1pm. Refreshments afterwards at the same location. Condolences can be mailed to 683 CR 165 Hallettsville, TX 77964.
