ROSEDALE-Virginia Kay Cash, 69, of Rosedale, Indiana died Sunday, September 30, 2012 in her residence. She was a retired schoolteacher having worked in Bridgeton and Rosedale Schools. She was born March 29, 1943 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Samuel Thomas Sumner and Gladys Slavens Sumner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Claude Raymond Cash whom she married July 30, 1961 and died September of 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Laura (Joey) Bennett of Terre Haute, Indiana and Cherri (Charlie) Rutan of Rosedale, Indiana; two sisters, Linda (John E.) Vanatti and Sandy (Jerry) Sears all of Terre Haute, Indiana; two grandsons, Drew and T.J. Rutan; one niece, Rita (Dana) Southern; two nephews, John S. Vanatti and Tom (Holli) Rudolph; several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a nephew Bruce Vanatti. She was a 1961 graduate of Fontanet High School and received her Bachelor's and Master's degree at Indiana State University. She was a member of Sigma sorority, OLLI, and a Lifeline volunteer. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandsons. Services will be 10:00 am Friday, October 5, 2012 at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 287 N. Main Street, Rosedale with the Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery at Terre Haute. Visitation is from 4-8 pm Thursday, October 4, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home. Memorials, should friends so desire, may be made to the Humane Society of Vigo County, 1811 South Fruitridge Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47803 in her memory. Friends may sign an online guest register at www.goochfuneralhome.com.
