Mrs. Virginia "Jinger" Chew, 84, of Henderson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 11, 1940 to the late Bethel and Arlene Fletcher Bickford in New York.
In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her sister Bettye Haugh.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Chin Kew Chew; two children, Sulynn McDaniel (Sam), and Torrey Chew; four grandchildren, Tyler Hunter, Ashlee Brodbeck (Rob), Robbyn Anderson, and Sam McDaniel (Amanda); seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Darwin Bickford, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws both here in the United States and Singapore.
Virginia retired from Pinellas County School System in Florida with over twenty years of service as a Elementary Special Education Teacher. She took great pride in taking care of her family, and was a stay at home mom during their youth. She began teaching in her fifties and retired when she was in her seventies. She was married to the love of her life, David for sixty one years. She will be missed tremendously by everyone.
Per Virginia's request, no service will be held.
