Virginia Cronin Obituary
A woman who kept her early life shrouded in quiet mystery, Virginia began building her family by adopting her son Skip in 1969. She worked two jobs as a single mother, until early 1974, when she served breakfast to a handsome newcomer in town, Lanny Cronin. Dating was quickly confirmed as love and the three became the Cronin's on St. Patricks' Day, 1974. After relocating to Lafayette, Indiana, their son John perfected the family in 1975. Enjoying the stability of a loving family, Virginia took care of her three boys as wife, mother, and referee while also running the cafeteria at East Tipp Junior High, always setting an example of work ethic and quiet perseverance.
She remains honored in life by her husband Lanny, son's John and Skip, daughters in law, Sonja and Susan, grandchildren Savannah, Seven and Conrad and great grandchild, Violet.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of the Springs in Lafayette, who helped take great care of Virginia in her final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Tippecanoe Funeral and Cremation Services located at 1671 W. 350 N. West Lafayette IN 47906 Monday January 12, 2026, Visitation 1pm-2pm with Eulogy to begin at 2pm.

I worked for Virginia at East Tipp, she was an amazing lady. Always committed to her job and the ET students & staff.
She was a very sweet person with a heart of gold and a sweet smile & laugh. She touched many lives.

Mrs. Cronin was an absolutely wonderful lady, setting a high standard of grace and professionalism at East Tipp. She always made the extra effort to make sure students and staff were cared for. She was loved!
