Virginia "Lynne" Garcia, November 7, 1938- November 29, 2025
Lynne, a very beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away with her son and grandkids by her. Lynne was ready for a long-awaited bike ride with her beloved husband.
Lynne was the daughter of Darrel G. Hansen and Erma Virginia Nettles on November 7, 1938, in Salt Lake City. She lived in the area until settling down in South Jordan. Lynne married her first husband, Robert Emil Soderman, on June 22, 1956, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had 3 sons: Terry Scott, Robert Corey, and Steven Mark. Lynne and Robert later divorced Dec 1, 1972. Lynne went on to marry her long-time love, Fred "Indian" Garcia. They married on July 6, 1981. With this marriage came a love for riding on the bike to anywhere that Fred would take her. Along with that, she also gained 2 stepdaughters and a stepson, and eventually many grandchildren and great-grandkids.
Lynne was a very good bowler and played on a team for the office she worked for. She enjoyed the game and made great friends along the way. She also loved to play pinochle and bunco with her gal pals. She would play her bunco in the garage all afternoon and enjoyed all the conversations and the time she spent with all her friends. She loved going to Wendover with her ladies; she especially loved going on their annual ride for Fred's memorial. Lynne was an amazing cook. She loved to cook for large crowds of people, whether it was for the gals, the club, or family get-togethers. She always enjoyed them, and they were really important to her. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She would shop all year round, looking for the perfect gift for each family member. Sometimes it was a gift you needed, and other times it was a gift you didn't know you needed. Lynne would spend days if not weeks, wrapping, labeling, and bagging each gift with perfection. Lynne didn't listen to much music, but she loved watching her NCIS, Bones, The Price is Right (every day), and soap operas. She would do anything she could to keep her hands and mind busy. Crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and little black jack games. She loved thrift shopping, Gardening, and good conversation.
One of the biggest things Lynne did was open her home to the stray kitties in her area. She would ensure they were warm, fed, safe, and loved.
Lynne will be incredibly missed by each and every person who had the pleasure to get to know her and have her in their lives.
Lynne is preceded in death by her parents Erma and Darrel, husband Fred, sons Robert "Corey" and Steven, along with her brother Donald. She is survived by her son Terry, stepdaughters Tammie Garcia(Greg) Cleverly, Debbie H (Ray) Blatt, and stepson Fred J.(Kathy) Garcia. Siblings: Barbra Hansen, Doug Nettles, Donald Nettles, LaVon Christensen, Cozette Kort. Grandchildren Jared(4), Michelle, Corey(Kosha)(3), Cody(Myndie)(3), Brad(Meagan)(4), Jaymie(Luke)(1) Mckenzie, Alexandrea, Cody, Victoria, Stockton, Sloan, Maria, and many, many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
