Virginia “Ginger” Lee Green Cason, 78, of Homerville passed away Saturday morning, December 20, 2025, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Homerville to the late J.C. and Virginia Way Green. Mrs. Cason lived in Homerville all of her life and was a 1965 graduate of Clinch County High School. Shortly after graduating, she began working for Dr. D.B. Terry who trained her and then retired from Clinch Memorial Hospital as a Lab Tech after many years of service. Mrs. Cason was a member of the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in cooking and lovingly entertaining friends and family, creating a home filled with love and warmth. She loved spending time outdoors, especially searching for arrowheads and fishing at Lake Verne.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine Cason Tucker.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, David L. “Buddy” Cason of Homerville; two children; Marian C. Davis (husband John) of Homerville, and David Cason (wife Tabitha) of Brunswick; son-in-law, Oliver Tucker of Homerville; special daughter-in-law, Jena York of Homerville; twelve grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley), Hannah (Erik), Sarah Katherine (Mark), Harrison, Kaleb, Alaina Lee, Olivia Lee, Zachary (Madison), Trenton, Charla, Ember, and Embree; two special grandchildren, Chloe and Kaisley; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Green (wife Kay) of Homerville; two sisters, Maurine Green Bradford (husband Romaine) of Brooklet, GA, and Lisa Lieupo (husband Russell) of Homerville; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Monday morning, December 22, 2025, at 11 am at the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am Monday at the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.
