Graveside service for Virginia “Sis” Lynn Goodwin, age 59, of Cookville, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Gladewater Cemetery with Brother Tim Anderson officiating. Pallbearers will be Bubba Collier, James Hill, Joey Maples, Bubba Cochran, Booger Butler, Howard Clymer. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Dixson, and Buddy Butler. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Mrs. Goodwin passed away on November 29, 2024, at her residence. 


Virginia Lynn Goodwin, better known as “Sis,” was born November 12, 1965, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to James Doyle Foster and Judith (McConnell) Foster. She married her beloved husband, Walt Goodwin, on January 21, 2005, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Sis was very well known for the time she spent as a cosmetologist at Clipzone. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cookville. 

Sis is survived by her husband, Walt Goodwin, her son, Garrett Thomas, her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica & James Hill, her foster son, Giovanni Campagna, her granddaughters; Peyton & Naomi Hill, her grandson, Gauge Thomas, her mother, Judy McConnell Foster, her brother and sister-in-law, David Foster and Tammie White, her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie Foster Pepper & David Pepper, her aunts; Sonja Fay Smith & Elaine “Lany” Edwards. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Sis was preceded in death by her father, James Doyle Foster, her maternal grandparents, Mary Fay and Vernon McConnell, and her paternal grandparents, Marion “Mutt” and W.T. Foster. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to pass on acts of kindness as Sis always did.
