Virginia E. Halbleib, 85, of Palmyra passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth (Frysinger) Bowers. She was the loving wife of 68 years to George Halbleib, Jr.
Virginia was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Elizabethtown. Her passion of baking and cooking lead her to work as a restaurant cook. She loved sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Virginia and George enjoyed traveling often, especially for mission trips.
In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her three children, Penny Harris (David), Susan “Sue” Risser (Kenneth), and Jason Halbleib (Tammy); four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Vicki Aldinger (Ray), and Joy Knepp (Don), along with her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 1:30PM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 N Locust St, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1PM until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
