Mrs. Virginia M. Peachey, 92, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Kensington in Galesburg.
Virginia was born on August 24, 1929, in Dewey, Illinois, as the daughter of Roy and Sadie (Stalter) Ingold. Later in life, she married Earl A. Peachey on November 24, 1956, in Fisher, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2017.
Surviving are her three sons, Kevin (and Julie) Peachey of Varna, Illinois, Keith (and Lindsay) Peachey of Galesburg, and Steve (and Gail) Peachey of Galesburg, one brother, John (and Margaret) Ingold of Goshen, Indiana, two sisters-in-law, Geneva Ingold of Rantoul, Illinois and Mary Peachey of Goshen, eight grandchildren, Stefanie (and Sean) Moulton, Reid (and Tracey) Peachey, Kyle (and Tayler) Peachey, Noelle (and Rhett) Butler, Joseph (and Lisa) Peachey, Isaiah (and Abby) Peachey, Tai (and Seth) Major, and Seth (and Helena) Peachey, and eleven great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Paul Ingold and Leroy Ingold.
After graduating high school, Virginia went on to become a Telephone Operator. Later on, she worked in a children's home in Kansas City, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Earl Peachey, who was also working at the children's home. They enjoyed a marriage of 60 years together. After moving to Princeton, Illinois, she worked as a CNA until she had her three boys and took on a more important role as a devoted homemaker. She had an unconditional love for her boys and her family. When her grandchildren came along, she loved spending time with them, making crafts, and attending their events. Virginia enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and baking. Virginia was a humble servant of God; who believed in Jesus Christ and wished everyone could live out a daily personal relationship with Him. Virginia also loved the idea of family; extending this to those outside her immediate family. Virginia wished everyone could be a part of a loving family and believed following Jesus Christ was the way to make this happen. She was a member of the Willow Springs Mennonite Church in Tiskilwa, Illinois and later the First Church of the Nazarene, Galesburg where she taught Sunday School. She was truly a wonderful farm wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.
As Virginia requested, cremation will be accorded. A Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. A private committal service will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, Galesburg or to Willow Springs Mennonite Church, Tiskilwa. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
