Virginia Makemson Obituary
Ginger was born on January 28, 1942 in Danville, IL to the late Walter Leon and Sarah Virginia Hope (Shutes) Barnett.
On May 21, 1960 she married Wilbur LeRoy "Bub" Makemson. He preceded her in passing on July 27, 2018. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, long drives, and ceramics. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters: Angel Gray, Trudy Makemson, Tanya (Greg) Talbert and Heather Jackson all of West Lafayette; son: Tim (Carmen) Makemson of West Lebanon; brother: Tom (Donetta) Barnett of Illinois; brother-in-law: Larry Surtees of New Mexico; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, "Bub" she is preceded in passing by her parents, brother: Walter Leon "Chip" Barnett and sisters: Edye Brummett and Diane Surtees.
Visitation will be held from 10am -11am Friday, August 30, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – 3430 E. 450 S. Lafayette, IN 47909. Funeral service will begin at 11am with Bishop Ben Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL.
