Virginia Sue Maloch

Virginia Sue Maloch, 97, of Athens, TX, formerly of El Dorado, AR and Norman, OK, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Oak Wood Place in Athens, TX.
Virginia's early education took place in Norman, OK, where she graduated from high school. She met the love of her life at the University of Oklahoma, Lyman Maloch. Virginia and Lyman's hearts were united in marriage on Labor Day in 1947, a union that flourished for 72 years until Lyman's passing in October 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruby (Whitwell) Clopton; husband, Lyman Dumas Maloch; sisters, Frances M. Williams and Royleta C. Malone; and sons, Mark Maloch and John Maloch. Virginia is survived by her sons, Michael G. Maloch and James W. Maloch and wife Martha of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jason L. Maloch of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Bryan D. Maloch of LaRue, TX, Karen M. Budgell of Athens, TX, Duncan M. Maloch of Santa Rosa, CA, and Sierra S. Maloch of Portland, OR; great grandchildren, Angelique M. Budgell of LaRue, TX, Frederick J. Budgell, and Jesse J. Budgell of Athens, TX, Hailey J. Falk of Houston, TX, Cassidy S. Maloch of LaRue, TX, Oliver M. Budgell of Athens, TX; daughters-in-law, Susie F. Maloch of Langley, WA and Debbie Maloch of LaRue, TX; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hephzibah Baptist Church in Emerson, AR with Dr. Eric Goble officiating with visitation following service in the fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Hephzibah Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR.
