Virginia L. McBrearty (nee Morris), who was just shy of her 96th birthday, passed away on September 11, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Rachel, West Virginia, to the late James G. and Stella E. (nee Looman) Morris, Virginia grew up there before making her home in New Jersey, where she raised her family. She was an accomplished and talented seamstress whose works of love will be passed down through the generations.

A true lady, Virginia was gentle and kind. She always carried a sparkle in her eye, paired with a quick and playful wit.

In addition to time with her family, Virginia enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and watching the hummingbirds from her porch. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

Cherished mother of Anna Marie Amey (the late Stan), John E. McBrearty (Tina), Debra Blair, and the late Douglas McBrearty. Loving grandmother of Dierdre Amey, Adrienne Stretch (James), Elizabeth Bench (Robert), Christina McBrearty, Robert McBrearty, Kristin Sullivan (Rocky), and Walt Blair. Adoring great-grandmother of Lucas, William, Robert "Bo", Halie, Christian, Ayden, Liam, Landon and Finn. Dear sister of Annjeanette and the late James, Julian, Jerry, Norma, and Madeline. Virginia is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (http://www.stjude.org/), Wounded Warrior Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/), or Tunnel to Towers Foundation (http://www.t2t.org/).

BERNADETTE DILULLO

Earlier today

Dear Debbie, Annamarie, John and families, you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this time. We each have our own special memories of your mom and will carry them in our hearts always. She was a kind gentle woman always ready with that beautiful smile; I never heard a harsh word from her about anyone. May her love and beautiful memories guide you in the days ahead. Lots of love and hugs to all of you, Cousin Bernadette and Rich
