Virginia Alyne McLoud, 89, of Huntsville; passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Countryside Assisted Living. She was born Sunday, November 18, 1934, at Huntsville; to Wayne and Edith Alyne Tankersley Simpson.
Virginia married Harvey Joe McLoud on Tuesday, January 1, 1952. Together, they raised two children, Pam and Tommy. Virginia was deeply committed to her faith as a devout Christian and held the distinction of being the last chartered member of Calvary Baptist in Huntsville. She cherished her marriage to Harvey Joe for 66 years, their bond remaining inseparable. They found joy in antiquing, attending yard sales, and auctions together.
During her career, Virginia worked at Coger's Rexall Drugstore in her younger years and later founded and managed the beloved Little House Flea Market throughout the 1990s. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, Virginia was always the first to lend a hand to those in need, embodying selflessness and a true servant's heart. Above all, she was cherished as a loving mother and grandmother.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne Simpson and Edith Simpson Smith; her husband, Harvey Joe McLoud; one son, Tommy Joe McLoud; three brothers, Ken, Frank, and Joe Simpson; and her grandparents, Frank and Bess Simpson.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam McLoud, of Huntsville, Arkansas; two grandsons, Joseph McLoud, of Springfield, Missouri, Jason (Emily) McLoud, of San Diego, California; and one sister, Bessie "Bess" Jackson, of Springdale, Arkansas; her church family, and many close friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, September 30, 2024, at Brashears Funeral Home with Brandon Brasel officiating. Pallbearers will be Anthony Simpson, Greg Simpson, Clayton Simpson, Todd Easterling, and Phil Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be the CNAs at Countryside Assisted Living. Interment will immediately follow services at Alabam Cemetery, Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Virginia's name may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 1019, Huntsville, AR, 72740 or to the Alzheimer's Association,
5506 West Walsh Lane #212, Rogers, Arkansas 72758.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Countryside Assisted Living and Circle of Life Hospice for their exceptional care and support.
Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
