Virginia Moens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home & Crematory - Treasure Coast Chapel on Feb. 24, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia E. "Ginny" Moens, of Hobe Sound, FL. She passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, after battling pancreatic cancer, which she fought with unwavering courage and grace.

Born in Chicago in 1958, Ginny was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Armand L. Moens (Buzz and Carol Ann) and the sister of Suzanne M. Rode, Lawrence A. Moens, Nancie M. Paradise, and Kathleen M. Robinson.

The Moens family moved to Boca Raton in 1960, and she and her siblings attended the Joan of Arc Church and school. She later attended Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale. Ginny was an accomplished athlete and animal lover. There was not a sport that Ginny didn't like or follow. She loved sailing, boating, tennis, golf, football, horse racing, basketball, and hockey. She loved the racetrack and had a special affection for the meet in Saratoga.

Ginny's love for the beach led her into a related career. She was a part-owner of Island Bounty in Tequesta and later opened her own store, Ginny's Gift Emporium in Vero Beach. She started the first women's business group in Tequesta, paving the way for many women in business. Perhaps it is no surprise that Ginny loved gifts, but she took more pleasure in giving than receiving them. She shared her blessings generously with her family and friends.

Ginny was always involved in philanthropic projects where she lived. In the 1980s, she helped St. Edwards raise money to restore its stained-glass windows, and in the 2020s, she contributed to the restoration of the church pillars. She always loved the Girl Scouts of America and many other philanthropic projects. She was well known for giving Santa Dollars and Bunny Bucks, which support many local charities.

She loved her family, the Ten Commandments, and the Constitution of the United States, and felt ever blessed and proud to be an American.

Ginny was a member of the Hobe Sound Yacht Club, the Jupiter Island Club, the Golden Ocala Golf and Country Club, The Reading Room in Saratoga Springs, NY, and the Palm Beach Yacht Club.

A ray of sunshine has dimmed in the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by Charlotte C. Weber of Hobe Sound, FL; her father, Armand L. Moens of Olathe, KS; her siblings, Suzanne M. (Ronald) Rode of Jupiter, FL, Lawrence A. Moens of Palm Beach, FL, Nancie M. Paradise of Olathe, KS, and Kathleen M. Robinson of Jupiter, FL; her nieces and nephews, Ronelle Rode, Nicholas Paradise, Lauren L. Prin, Michael Paradise, Christina L. Moens, Jennifer Robinson, Kate Robinson, and David Robinson; her godson, Ford Prin; and her great-grandnephews, Jack Prin, Whitley and Weston Paradise; as well as the Weber family, Beth Koven, and her many, many friends.

Per Ginny's wishes, no funeral service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, NY, or the Basilica of St. Edwards in Palm Beach, FL.

I will have wonderful memories of my friend, Ginny, for the rest of my life. She was one of the kindest people I´ve known and always had a smile and gift whenever we got together. I met Ginny over 40 years ago and we´ve been friends since that day. Her positive attitude towards all things just made anyone around her happy. Ginny will be missed by so many. I will see you again someday, my friend. I love you.
