LIFE REFLECTIONS
Renford Agustus Georges was born on May 14, 1946, to Allan and Dora Georges in Prospect Port Morant, St. Thomas, Jamaica. He was raised in a close-knit family known for their strong work ethic and for the love and respect they shared with one another.
Renford received his education in the public schools of Prospect, Port Morant. During his years in Jamaica, he worked in security detail for local politicians, including former Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller.
Seeking greater opportunities, Renford left his beloved homeland in the early 1970s and migrated to the United States. His journey began in Brooklyn, New York. Although he found the fast pace of life there quite different from what he was accustomed to, he remained for three years. While in New York, Renford was employed at the prestigious Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase, where he formed a lasting friendship with Gary Randalsham and Terry, a golf caddy friend who traveled seasonally between New York and
Hobe Sound, Florida, for work.
Encouraged by his friend, Renford relocated to Hobe Sound and began working at Loblolly Golf Club, serving there for seven seasons while continuing to travel to New York during Florida's off-season to work at the Old Oaks Country Club. In total, he dedicated 18 years of service to the Old Oaks Country Club. He later joined the world-renowned Jupiter Island Club in Hobe Sound, where he worked faithfully and diligently for over 20 years before retiring. He also proudly worked with Tony's Tree Service team, where he built lasting friendships.
Renford deeply missed his beloved homeland. He remained devoted to supporting his family in Jamaica. He was not able to return as often as he desired. Still, he carried Jamaica with him in his heart.
Warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming, Renford truly never met a stranger. During his years in Hobe Sound, he formed a close friendship with Kathy Gregg and her family, who lovingly embraced him as one of their own. They became his extended family, sharing countless holidays, laughter, and special memories together. Renford formed an especially close bond with Kathy's grandson, Zachary Wilson, and her nephew, Makahi Miller, holding each of them in a very special place in his heart.
Renford's greatest accomplishment while living in the U.S., was accepting the Lord as his personal Savior. He was baptized by Reverend Douglas Alvenrago, Church of Christ, Jupiter, Florida. Renford enjoyed listening to Jamaican gospel music. The lyrics in his favorite song are, "Some people serve Him only on Sunday, but we serve Him, Monday through Monday."
On Friday, February 6, 2026, Renford peacefully entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Maureen Georges and Veronica Georges.
He will be lovingly remembered by sisters: Jennifer Georges, Beverly Hamilton, Marge Hylton and brother, Louis Georges. Children: Althea Georges, Jackie Georges, Manual Georges and special niece, Tanya Miller, all of Jamaica. Extended family: Kathy Gregg, Hobe Sound, Zachary Wilson, Jackson, Tennessee, Nataya (Frank) Brown, West Palm Beach, Deverious Thomas, Port St. Lucie, Florida and Makahi Miller, Douglas, Georgia, the Miller Family, Ms. Mary, Caddy Community, Sandra Jones, James "Bentley" Blanks, Ernest Daughtry, Earold, and the countless friends he made in the Hobe Sound – Gomez Community.
