Virginia Lynn Petersen

Virginia Lynn Petersen, better known as Ginny, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43 on August 26, 2024.
Born on April 22, 1981 to Debbie & Carl Petersen, Ginny grew up in Ravena New York & graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 1999.
Ginny attended Maria College & graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing in 2011 & began her career at Albany Medical Center, where she worked in the Emergency Department, then went on to the CCU Unit where her career thrived.
In 2018, Ginny became a Travel Nurse and relocated to California. She played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ginny also took on assignments in Florida, then eventually returned back to Albany & regained her position at Albany Medical Center.
Ginny loved art, fashion & traveling, Las Vegas being one of her most favorite destinations, as well as attending music festivals. She had a spirit like no other & was adored by everybody who loved her.
Ginny is survived by her parents, Debbie & Carl Petersen, her brother Michael, nephew Cameron, several aunts & uncles, her Chorkie, Scotty, whom she called "Bubba Bear," & Goddaughter Vanessa Cossart.
She will be missed by all of her friends that loved her, especially her childhood bestie, Erin Alfano & lifelong sidekick, Penni Colello.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
A private burial was held on September 11, 2024.
