Virginia Elizabeth Ploskon

It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the passing of Virginia (Ginger) E. Ploskon ( nee Burhorst) 70, a devoted wife, a loving mother and doting grandmother on July 29, 2025.
Born December 11,1954 in Baltimore, Maryland, Ginger initially studied Cosmetology passing her State board in the early 1970's but was later drawn to pursue a teaching career in Elementary Education. Graduating with honors from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, she found a challenging and rewarding career as a teacher in the Baltimore County School System.
Ginger married her High School sweetheart- Edward Ploskon - celebrating 52 years of marriage, they nurtured four (4) sons together- an accomplishment that surely guaranteed her angel wings and a fast pass into the Kingdom above. She is survived by her husband, Ed, her 4 sons and daughter in laws- Carlton/Skip(Brenda), Walter (Michelle), Jeremiah (Jennifer), and Benjamin ( Heather), five (5) grandchildren - Alexander, Maija, Nicholas, Nathan, Aaron as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Ginger was a dedicated mother and a wonderful and engaging grandmother who placed her family first and enjoyed being surrounded by them for family dinners, holidays gatherings, family vacations to the beach, time in the backyard pool, and some wild and fun filled family game night antics. She loved to work in her flower and herb gardens - especially if she could convince one of the grandchildren to be with her. She became an avid quilter after she retired spending many hours designing, crafting and producing beautiful pieces of art that she gifted to her family and friends!
Ginger was a kind and gentle woman who touched the hearts of many! It will be impossible to fill the empty space in our hearts that she left behind.
