Virginia Lee (Drabing) Roach, 83, of Redford, passed away on Saturday, September 23rd. Virginia (Ginny) was born in French Lick, IN on July 5th, 1940 to Ruby and Roy Drabing. She moved to Redford, MI with her family where she graduated from Redford Union High School in 1958. At age 15, she met her future husband, and the love of her life, Bud Roach, and they married on September 24, 1960. Bud and Ginny built their life around family, raising their three boys, traveling, taking motorcycle trips, and going to casinos.
Ginny participated in the women's bowling league at Merri-Bowl for many years with her sisters, looked forward to card club each month, and hosted many family barbecues, birthdays, and holiday celebrations at their home each year. Whether with her bright smile, or her signature cherry cheesecake, She loved those around her to feel right at home.
Ginny is proceeded in death by her husband, Bud, her son Ron, and great grandson Cole. Ginny was a loving mother to Rob, the late Ron and Randy (Phyllis). Cherished Grandmother to Rachel (Lilly), Nick (Nicole) and Amanda, and Beloved Great Grandmother to Harper, Brock, Josie and Leah. She is survived by her siblings, Chris (Tom) Braunscheidel, Carol (Tony) Pajak, and Mike (Marti) Drabing, and numerous nieces and nephew's
A celebration of life will be held at Charles R. Step Funeral Home on Friday, October 20th from 2:30 to 6:00 with a memorial service starting at 6:00.
