Virginia Rose Moss Harvey

Virginia Harvey, 91, of Bell City, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025. She was born on June 18, 1934, in Bell City, Louisiana, to the late Jonathan and Rose Eve DeRouen Moss.
Virginia spent her early years in Bell City before moving during her sophomore year of high school. She later graduated from New Iberia High School and pursued stenography through night school. Throughout her life, she worked diligently as a bookkeeper, managing the finances of her husband's businesses.
She and her husband, the late Robert D. Harvey, Sr., made their home in Northeast Texas for many years. In her later years, Virginia returned to her roots, settling once again on the DeRouen family farm in Bell City. She was a devoted member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert D. Harvey, Sr.; and siblings, J.W. Moss and Mary Jo Nunez.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her children: Glen Harvey (Kim), Robert "Bobby" Harvey, Jr., Judia Harvey, and Henry Harvey; siblings: Barbara Lou Ronsonet, Betty Joyce Cornett, and Ellen West (Mike); grandchildren: Lexi A. Harvey Hilla (Henry) and Austin Dale Harvey; and one great-grandchild, Cora Rayne Hilla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City, with Rev. Paul D'Sa officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the church and will continue until the recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at a later date in Danville Cemetery in Kilgore, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
