Virginia Shultz Obituary Virginia Leata Shultz of
Warsaw, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and was a quiet, but energetic fun-loving grandma. Virginia dearly loved her family and offered her unconditional love to everyone.
She was born on May 31, 1937, in
Warsaw, Indiana to Viola Mae (Slusher) and Wilber Fredrick Rosbrugh. Virginia was a life-time resident of Kosciusko County, Virginia graduated from Pierceton High School in 1956. On October 14, 1956, this young bride married the love of her life, Ardon LaMarr Shultz. They were blessed with 30 years of marriage before Ardon passed away on October 2, 1986.
Virginia worked as a telephone operator for a few years, and then later found her niche as the beloved school bus driver, safely transporting thousands of children to Eisenhour Elementary School and Warsaw Community High School, retiring in 2017 after 30 years. She was a GREAT school bus driver, who loved children, with plenty of patience she kept her eyes on the road as well as her trusty "eyes on the back of her head", Virginia always made sure to keep all the kids in check when they were rowdy or excited. Over the years she accumulated piles of photos of her beloved bus kids and with her sharp mind could easily recall their names.
She had a big heart and proudly cared for her in-laws until they passed away. Virginia was a great mother and later enjoyed her role as grandma. She loved caring for her family and could often be found in the kitchen baking or cooking many delicious meals. Her home would be filled with the smell of her strawberry or peach jam cooking on the stove. When their farmer friends would stop by and visit at the house, the men would eventually get all worked up in a conversation and argue their opinion on one thing or another. Virginia would quiet them down by offering up some hot coffee and homemade pie.
She had an eye for detail and was great with her hands crafting beautiful quilts. For many years she played the piano at the former Walnut Creek United Methodist Church in Warsaw. Most recently she had been enjoying worshipping alongside her church family at Warsaw Community Church when she was able to go.
She will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Mary Ann (Robert "Bob") Hill (
Warsaw, IN); Linda (Dave) Leckrone (Wabash, IN); five grandchildren, Jonathan Hill, Ryan (Sarah) Hill, Cory (Katie) Hill, Nathan Mills, Taylor Mills; and two great-grandchildren, Pippa and Perry Hill. Also surviving is her brother Richard (Jo Ann) Rosbrugh (Winona Lake, IN). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Fred Jr. and Robert Rosbrugh, and her sister, Doris Setser.
