Virginia Laureen Stone

August 31, 1939 - December 2, 2025

Our beloved mother, Virginia Laureen Stone, 86, a resident of Manteca, CA, left her earthly home December 2, 2025 to see her Savior, Jesus Christ. Surrounded by her family, Virginia passed away at her residence after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

She is survived by her daughters; Deborah O'Brien of Tracy, Nancy Redding (Craig) of Hathaway Pines, Christy Bowles of Rohnert Park; and five grandchildren, Kelly, Ashley, Lauran, Clayton and Jeffrey. She is further survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Robin Johnson; brother-in-law Phil Ziedman; six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Virginia is predeceased by her husband, William, father and mother, Charles and Elizabeth and sister-in-law, Carol.

Virginia graduated from Acalanes HIgh School and went on to get her "Mrs" degree at Armstrong Business College. She married the love of her life, William Daniel Stone, in 1959. They went on to raise their family in San Ramon. Virginia worked as a bookkeeper for La Fiesta Foods (Family grocery store) and later as a claims adjuster with East Bay Motor Car Dealers. Virginia and Bill enjoyed many years together traveling, entertaining and dining out.

She loved her Lord and Savior and served in the church choir and many bible studies. She was a God Filled woman, always sharing his word and inspiring others. She had a special talent for decorating, entertaining, gardening and gourmet cooking. She truly loved getting together and enjoying family, a special "lifelong" college group and many, many friends.

Virginia (Ginger) is greatly missed and will be lovingly remembered by all she blessed.

A graveside service and burial will be held at Oakmont Memorial Park & Mortuary, 2099 Reliez Valley Road, Lafayette, CA on Thursday, December 18, at 2pm.
