Virginia Lee Dixon Talbott, age 92 , transitioned peacefully on January 11, 2026 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on June 26, 1933, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Carrie Dixon and Glenn Dixon. Virginia lived a long life marked by resilience, devotion to family, and a quiet strength.

She was raised in Richmond, Indiana, where she attended Richmond High. From an early age, Virginia learned the value of hard work and responsibility that became a major cornerstone that stayed with her throughout her life. She later relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where she made her home and raised her family.

Virginia was united in marriage to Raymond Talbott on January 18, 1961. Their marriage was one built on love, friendship and perseverance. Raymond preceded her in death, as did her beloved children, Orva Jet and Raymond Talbott, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jackie Dixon; and her sisters, Eris Day, Thelma Patterson and grandson Isiah Haggins.

Virginia devoted many years of her life to education, working as a school teacher for Longfellow and Grace A. Green, where she touched countless lives through her commitment and care. She dedicated many years of service to Cub Foods in Dayton, Ohio, where she was known as a dependable and hardworking employee. After retiring, she continued to focus on what mattered most to her, her family. She took great pride in being the matriarch of a large and loving family and found her greatest joy in watching it grow through the generations.

She is survived by her loving children, O’Rita Demmons, Bruce Talbott (Evelyn), and Carrie Caldwell (Jerald), who will forever cherish her guidance, sacrifices, and love. Virginia’s legacy lives on through her 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved and respected her deeply.

In addition to her family, Virginia shared meaningful friendships that enriched her life, including her special friends Pam Peavy, Onnie Barksdale, Jean Norman and special sister in law Carolyn Talbott, whom remained close to her and brought her comfort and companionship. Caregivers Carrie Caldwell, Christina Williams, Kynadee Commodore the staff of Miami Valley Hospital and Hospice of Dayton . Virginia will be remembered as a woman of strength, perseverance, and unwavering love for her family. Her life touched many, and her memory will remain alive in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love she has left behind. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue through the generations she helped shape.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. Family and friends may visit from 9:30AM until the time of service. Virginia will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
