Virginia White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home - LaPlace on Mar. 30, 2026.
Virginia Broome White passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 86. She was a native of Mississippi, a longtime resident of LaPlace, LA, and recently resided in Gonzales, LA.

Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Haywood "Sam" White. Loving mother of Theresa White Blouin (Gary), Sandra White Parks (Jerry), and Richard Dale White (Mary). Virginia is also survived by seven cherished grandchildren who knew her as their Gigi: Brittney Malain Brignac (Timothy), Blake Matthew White (Mandy), Cody Raymond Malain (Jamie), Kaile Blouin Scioneaux (Justin), Kacie White Wilt (Benjamin), Skyler Don Parks (Rangsey}, and Jeremy Nelson Parks; and fourteen great-grandchildren: Jacob, Luke, Elijah, and Audrey Brignac, Avery and Amelia White, Colt Malain, Zane, Leni, Isla, and Cruz Scioneaux, Emerson and Sawyer Wilt, and Annora Parks.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh Thomas Broome and Ethel Broome Ellis, and her two great-grandchildren Luca and Colette Scioneaux.

Virginia had a sweet soul and was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved spending time in her garden, getting her hands in the dirt, and watching things grow. It was her happy place. More than anything, Virginia loved her family. She was always there with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a quiet strength that held us together. We will miss her deeply, but her love and gentle spirit will be with us always.

The family would like to give special thanks to The Parc Senior Living and Heart of Hospice for all of their care, support, and kindness during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace, LA. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS, at 2:00 p.m.
