Vito Cerulli Obituary

Cerulli, Vito Joseph
LATHAM - Vito Joseph Cerulli, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, February 10, 2025. Vito was a man who lived life on his terms. His credo was always to work hard and to always take care of his family and friends. They always came first in his book no matter what happened. As a first generation, Italian American, he truly lived the American dream
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Alphonse Cerulli and Angela Maria Cerulli; and husband of his true love the late Mary Jitter Cerulli.
Vito attended Catholic Central High School and Troy High School, where his life long passion with sports began as an athlete playing football and baseball. This passion carried over as a fan always rooting for the NY Yankees.
After high school, he worked for Ford Motor Company for 25 years, retiring in 1990. Vito initially raised his family in Troy, but eventually moved to Latham, N.Y.
Vito brought his passion for sports, work, family and friends everywhere he went. He was a lifetime member and served multiple terms as the president of the Emerald Athletic Club in Troy and also a lifetime member of the Troy Elks Lodge #2556 and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his children, Anthony (Lori) Cerulli, Troy, Rosemarie "Ree" Cerulli, Waterford, Cheryl (Michael) Jackson, Schaghticoke, Gina (Kevin) Burke, Altamont, Vincent Cerulli, Latham, and Dominick Cerulli, Latham; his grandchildren, Tony Cerulli, Angela (Dominick) Cioffi, Amy Gauthier, Christopher Jackson, Alicia Gauthier, Brian (Brittney) Jackson, Amanda (Dean) Cioffi, Daniel Jackson, C.J. Gauthier, Conor Burke and Bridget Burke; 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Maryanne Ackner and Michele T. Cerulli; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Vito Cerulli; and brother, Thomas S. Cerulli Sr.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4 - 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, in Troy, with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
